Veterans Day: Orwigsburg to Pottsville![]() On Veterans Day (11-11-11) we are hosting an event, The Graffiti of War Project’s National Gallery Tour brought to the community in part by the Block of Art, Maxim Magazine and Schaeffer’s Harley-Davidson. This week-long event, starting at 11 am, will showcase the art created by our warfighters and civilians on location in Kuwait, Iraq and Afghanistan as well as art created by veterans and concerned civilians. The point is to raise national awareness for our courageous men and women who are suffering from the invisible wounds of war, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury.
Schaeffer's Harley-Davidson - Orwigsburg![]() As George Washington once said, “A Nation will be judged by the way it treats her veterans”, and our project and non-profit partners are asking our Nation this same question: How will our Nation be judged?
We are asking the support of all Harley-Davidson dealerships and the riders of the Schuylkill County community to join our fight against these invisible wounds and to support our brave veterans and warfighters. With the help of Schaeffer’s Harley-Davidson we are organizing a Benefit Ride to help change the lives of our Nation’s heroes. Registration for the ride starts at 9 am with the last bikes out of Orwigsburg at 10 am and ends at the Garfield Monument in downtown Pottsville at 11 am to kick off the event for Veterans Day. Though there is no fee for registration, we are accepting donations which will be tax-deductible. By participating in this ride, not only are you supporting the project through the Benefit Ride but the event through your attendance after the ride.
