August 24th, 2011 - The Graffiti of War Project (GoW) is excited to announce that in partnership with non-profits Give an Hour, The Center for American Military Music Opportunities (C*A*M*M*O*), and Celebrate the Military Child (CtheMC), they will be presenting The September 11th Memorial Concert to commemorate the 10th anniversary of that tragic day in 2001. The upcoming anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the war in Iraq and, specifically, the war in Afghanistan will be heavy on the hearts and minds of Americans and the rest of the world. With that in mind, The Graffiti of War Project is teaming up with StageIt, an online music venue, and the new musical sensation that is sweeping the internet, Combat Medic Zac Charles, for a memorial concert live from Afghanistan.
August 17th, 2011 - The National Security Leadership Foundation (NSLF) and Celebrate the Military Child (CtheMC), two separate organizations dedicated to providing alternative support services for military families, have agreed to form a partnership with The Graffiti of War Project. Although the Graffiti of War Project’s primary objective is to support and advocate for military service-members around the world, they also recognize that forming partnerships with organizations which also focus on the military families could only prove beneficial to their overall mission. As such, Graffiti of War is excited to be forming a partnership with the teams at NSLF and Celebrate the Military Child. Graffiti of War plans to support these outstanding organizations by including them in the National Art Gallery Tour, where CtheMC and NSLF will be able to reach out to military families and spread the word about their services.
August 12th, 2011 - The Graffiti of War Project announces that they will be featuring the amazing and award-winning photography of Zoriah. One of the Project’s long-term objectives has been to document and showcase what they call “conflict art” from downrange, and Zoriah’s own collection of war photographs embodies the very definition of conflict art: raw, gripping images that reflect just a moment in time on the warfront. Zoriah has been honored with numerous awards for his photojournalism skills—for example, the grand prize in the highly sought-after Photo Philanthropy Activist Awards (2009) and a rating of #6 in the Top Ten Photojournalists of All Time (2009) by Digital Photo Basics and some of the major news corporations that have commissioned Zoriah’s work include BBC News, CNN, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek and many others. The Graffiti of War Project is more than honored to feature an artist of such caliber as Zoriah, who has been a loyal supporter of The Project and its team members.
August 8th, 2011 - The Graffiti of War Project announces the official beginning of the National Gallery Tour showcasing the art from their multi-year effort to collect and document images of art created by service members, civilians and local nationals enduring the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition, this exposition will feature the works of veteran and military artists both here at home and still deployed to combat. This tour will present the little seen perspective from the individual experience of this generation's conflicts. Through the creation of this art, these men and women express the emotions of war and provide an insight to life in combat. For more information read the press release or contact exhibit@graffitiofwar.com to be a part of this national phenomenon.
August 3rd, 2011 - Beginning September 5th, Doc Parsons will be writing two articles a week, to be published online, covering a range of subjects, to include sports, gaming, entertainment, world events and fashion, all with a military spin. These articles will feature photos and stories from the front lines, images of art created throughout the world’s conflict zones, and will be short, sexy, and straight to the point, keeping in line with Maxim’s standard format.
