The Graffiti of War Project has grown exponentially since our beginning in early March of 2010. We have gone from simply collecting images through Facebook to a multi-national organization collaborating with individuals across the US and western Europe. From a couple of veterans with an idea to a team of individuals working an extensive network to coordinate and plan expeditions, like the recent one to Kuwait and Iraq in June and now gearing up for our national art exhibition which is growing every month.
Because of these giant leaps forward, our core team can no longer execute what is needed with the limited funds afforded through the current efforts of merchandising and personal contributions. With this in mind and the opportunities this art tour presents, we must seek sponsorship from major US and European based corporations in order to ensure the overall success of the tour as well as the entire project. However, this new directive to secure corporate sponsorship will not affect our ability to remain apolitical and unbiased in terms of presenting the Conflict Art we have collected as well as the art created by our veterans and service members from around the world. In addition, our vision remains the same which is to raise the public awareness for those suffering the invisible wounds of war and to work with organizations to develop and provide both traditional and alternative solutions for those afflicted by PTSD.
With our ever-developing art exhibition and our directive to garner support from several companies to help shoulder the burden of cost these tours present, our ability to expose the world to the emotions of war on unconventional canvases and bridge the cultural divide between those who have experienced war and those who haven't will be stronger than ever.
