Other than tattoo magazines and the occasional feature article, there has been very little mainstream attention given to these stunning and powerful works of art. Our goal is to change that and use the upcoming book to showcase the work, artistry and meanings behind these incredible images. Many of these creations, this "skin graffiti", can be a window into a rarely seen emotional side of military culture. Each one tells a story and our goal is to document and then share these stories and give the world a further inside look at the culture of our military men and women. Using America's increasing interest in tattoos, we aim to further spread awareness of the self-sacrifices of our citizen soldiers and shed some light into what lies beneath the hard outer shells of our brave warfighters.
While our team is on assignment in Kuwait & Iraq, they will be capturing images of these tributes to a life of service, to a lost friend or loved one. As the departure to Southwest Asia nears, we will continue to accept submissions for consideration via the new Facebook page, www.facebook.com/warfighters.ink. In addition, we will be creating a website under the URL, www.warfighters-ink.com so make sure you keep checking the Facebook page to find out when that website is live.
The addition of Warfighters', INK, we feel, continues our focus of showcasing a rarely seen, unconventional view of the world around us, through a new and unique perspective.
If you would like to know more or have your own "skin graffiti" to submit for consideration, please email them to info@graffitiofwar.com or visit our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/warfighters.ink and submit them directly to the page. Make sure you share our page with your friends, family, everyone and anyone, we need your support to ensure the success of this project and future projects all p to you by, The Graffiti of War.
Always Forward!
