Dear Our Amazing Fans & Supporters:
Forgive my lack of communication lately, I have been doing my best to avoid the "sickness" that has laid waste to my family of four, however, my defenses were breeched Sunday morning and the all-out attack began last night. I am sorry to report that my body has been over run and the "sickness" has prevailed. Never to let the flu keep me away, I am at your service and will continue to "fight the good fight", snot, cough and fever be damned!
I would like to take this update to introduce you to our team behind the scenes here at the Graffiti of War Project. Although we are a small organization, our partners are giants among their peers. In addition to those listed below, we have a small army of "Super Fans" and supporters that assist the project in a variety of ways and we are grateful beyond words for their selfless service to this project and the American Warfighter. Your work and support has not gone unnoticed!

In addition to those listed below, we have a small army of "Super Fans" and supporters that assist the project in a variety of ways and we are grateful beyond words for their selfless service to this project and the American Warfighter. Your work and support has not gone unnoticed!
Melissa "Mel" Parsons: Mel is the creative design director as well as the driving force behind our non-profit. She designed the majority of our merchandise and created our soon-to-be released, Press Book which has dazzled the world-over. Melissa studied at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for Industrial Design and Technology. In addition to her work on this project, she created Raining Ink Designs, a custom design and tattoo company. She operated this very successful small business both overseas and here in the States. Although she wears many "hats" in this organization, she is the genius behind our creative design and Warfighters’ INK was a concept born inside her beautiful mind (I may be a bit partial, she is my wonderful wife.).
Sondra "Guardian" Harkins: Sondra is our newest addition to the Graffiti of War Project; she joins our team as the PR/Marketing Director for both The Graffiti of War Project and Foundation. Sondra’s passion for The Graffiti of War Project and Foundation is linked both to her understanding of what the men and women who protect our country must endure and her own passion for the arts and photography. Sondra has worked in healthcare and safety for the past six years and spends her free time working with not-for-profit organizations that support suicide awareness and prevention and promoting new artists in the music industry. Her strengths are analytic informatics and web-based communications. Sondra’s dedication to the military, the arts and music, healthcare, technology, and suicide awareness and prevention will help us bring this project and our troop’s home.
Jason "SSG D." Deckman: Jason has been with this project and organization before it was an "organization". SSG D. joined our team when it was only Doc, Mel and a dream. He was the mind behind our website and original Facebook page and continues to aid in our web development and social media presence. SSG D and Doc deployed to Ar Ramadi, Iraq together during OIF 05-07, one of the worst places on Earth in 2006. He has an exceptional military service record and continues to serve this great Nation and all of us as a member of the Army Reserve Corps.
As I stated before, in addition to the above, we have an extensive network of "Super Fans" whom we rely on for their help in spreading the word, raising awareness for the project. Words cannot express our gratitude to these incredible individuals for their selfless service to this project and their willingness to support us.
It has been mentioned to us that we should add to our staff and we have put some thought into this suggestion. One of the ideas was to "tap" some of those listed on our "Top SE7EN" candidate list to act as members of a board for the Project. We have not officially made a decision as to whether we will head in this direction, but as this project continues to grow, expand and progress, our need for more official members will dictate our decision. We plan on making this decision this week during our Board meeting, Thursday, March 31st. We, of course, will inform our supporters and fans as to our decision.
Our next update, we will be listing those we are considering for official members of the Board and a list of our "Super Fans". Be sure to check back for this important update as we are going to inquire our "official supporters" (those members that have offered support for this project) as to their input for this upcoming decision.
Thank you all for your continued support of this project. I say it often, but it deserves to be said again, we are so very grateful for your support and belief in this project as well as the Foundation. Without your generous donations and continued input, ideas and suggestions, this project would be lacking in so many ways. Thank you for what you have done and continue to do to ensure the success of this important cultural project.
